Osteoporosis is a women’s health issue. Dr. Shannon Carpenter, orthopedic surgeon and owner of the new Bone Health Clinic in Lenexa, will be joining us to talk about how to prevent, detect, and treat the disease.

January 5 – Run/walk through holiday lights at Sar Ko Par Trails Park in Lenexa, with hot chocolate after!
February 2 – Zoom meeting with Coach Helen on balance exercises
March 2 – KCE version of the “Great British Bake-Off” with shortbread cookie recipes and group tasting.
April 6 – No meeting; volunteering as mentors for the AdventHealth Women’s Training Team
May 4 – No meeting; volunteering as mentors for the AdventHealth Women’s Training Team
June 1 – It’s our annual OPEN HOUSE! A social time to visit with members old & new.
July 6 – Amanda Fisher, pelvic floor PT, from Empower Your Pelvis. Location: Meadowbrook Park, 91st & Nall, Overland Park
Aug 3 – Andy McCarl from Tai Chi KC. Location: Loose Park
Sept 7 – Tasteful Olive: health benefits of olive oil and vinegar, plus a “Salad bar” with vinaigrettes. Location: Thompson Park, 8045 Santa Fe Dr, Overland Park.
Oct 5 – Dr. Shannon Carpenter of the Bone Health Clinic on osteoporosis prevention, detection, & treatment.
