Multi-talented member Suba Nadarajah will guide us through a 30-minute meditation to help us slow down, breathe, and enjoy the moment. Suba is the artist who designed our club logo with “Joy”, the female figure who represents the spirit of our club.
When: We begin at 6:30 pm for drinks, a light dinner, and time to catch up with friends. From 7:00–8:30 we have a speaker, discussion, or activity of interest to women, and we conclude with a short business meeting.
Where: We meet in the Community Center, Building D, at St. Joseph Medical Center, I-435 and Stateline Road, in the auditorium. (Follow signs to the Emergency Room, then go past it to reach the Community Center, Building D).

January 9 – “The State of the Race”. Learn more about our signature event, the Mother’s Day 5K! (Note: date changed to 2nd Tuesday due to holiday conflicts.)
February 6 – Cancelled due to inclement weather.
March 6 – “Hands-Only CPR & AED training”. Get this life-saving training, free to KCE members, taught by Johnson County MED ACT.
April 3 – Volunteer to run or walk with the Women’s Training Team, to help them prepare for our own MD5K. New Location! Shawnee Mission Health – Overland Park

May 1 – Women Training Team continues at Shawnee Mission Health, 7820 W 165th Street, Overland Park, KS. Run or walk with participants, and stay for the Poster Party! Help create the fantastic posters that line the MD5K course.
June 5 – KCE Summer Party and MD5K Post Race Celebration!
July 10 – “Mason Jar Salads.” Demo on these portable meals by Cindy Newland of Intentionally Eat. (Note: date changed to 2nd Tuesday to avoid holiday conflicts.)
Aug 7 – “Our 2nd Annual Swap Meet.” Bring your lightly used athletic clothing and gear to trade, sell, or donate!
Sept 4 – Inspiration from speaker Chau Smith, who celebrated her 70th birthday by running 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days!
Oct 4 – Our club’s very own, in-house Coach Helen Wilms will speak on techniques for injury prevention and recovery.
Nov 6 – Guided meditation with Suba Nadarajah
