A Running and Walking Club for Women

Not a mother? Not a runner? Not a problem.

The March 1 event with authors Dimity McDowell and Sarah Bowen Shea is for all busy, multitasking women who are trying to fit exercise into their lives. Here’s their description:

Too often, women minimize what they do–”I only work part-time,” or “I just have two kids.” It carries over into our fitness lives, “I’m just doing a 5K,” or “I only work-out twice a week.”

It’s time for us ladies to step up and own what we do. If you regularly move your body forward by lifting your feet off the ground in rhythmic fashion, you are a “real” runner or walker. And given that less than 2% of the U.S population did a race last year, don’t make excuses for what distance you go. You are way ahead of the vast majority of Americans.

But we know what it’s like to struggle with self-doubt and uncertainty. We will share anecdotes–both personal and from countless other women we’ve met online and at race expos–and tips for how to believe in yourself as a strong, capable runner or walker.
